Nizhny Novgorod hosts CIPR, the 5th Forum ‘Digitalization in Industrial Russia’

The ‘Digitalization in Industrial Russia’ forum took place at the Nizhny Novgorod Trade Fair complex on September 23-25, 2020. The Forum is the first Russian conference for digital economic development and industry transformation, promotion and support of digital economy development, cyber-security and high-quality export products.  CIPR combines a business forum and exhibition, backed by an extensive conference programme with panel and round-table events, presentations and workshops.

Nizhny Novgorod hosted the fifth edition of the Forum as a top innovative Russian region, which is home to a dozen of IT companies employing over 20.000 specialists.  Intel with its two R&D centres, Microsoft and IBM are among other domestic and international IT companies and start-ups, forming a cluster (‘iCluster’) of 85 entities that enjoys growth since 2017. The concept of iCity, a hub for IT companies to be placed in a valley just off the city’s central area, was presented during the Forum.

Over 70% of the Forum’s participants originated from Russia, while others represented foreign countries (USA, UK, Canada, Japan, Italy, India, China, etc.). Detailed information about the event may be found via the link provided below.

The Nizhny Novgorod region is a key economic area of European Russia, and the city is the administrative centre of the Volga (Privolzhsky) Federal District of the country, located ca. 400 km east of Moscow. The District unites 14 regions and republics with 29.3 million inhabitants (Russia’s 20%) on only about 6% of the country’s territory. Industrial production, ICT and R&D, (petro)chemistry and pharma, heavy machine building, aerospace and shipbuilding, transport and logistics, food processing, as well as tourism are the main economic sectors of the District.
