US re-make of ‘Science Fiction’

The US-based film studio Colombia has taken out an option to make its own version of the Belgian-Dutch children’s film Science Fiction, according to the Gazette van Antwerpen newspaper.

The move comes after the original Dutch version was seen by the independent Hollywood producer Lauren Shuler-Donner at the Berlin film festival. The film had its premiere at the Ghent Film Festival in 2002 and has won awards in both Montreal and the Czech Republic.
