“My wife works in the care industry,” says Kurt Leuridan, CEO of Tokai Optics. “She has been complaining lately about her glasses fogging up when wearing a face mask. Meanwhile, my Japanese business partner already has a lot of experience with wearing face masks – that’s why we started playing with the idea of creating a new product. The idea was to dip glasses into a special liquid that forms a permanent layer, protecting them from condensation.”
For the time being, Tokai Optecs has yet to produce large quantities of the special glasses. However, the first 50 pairs of glasses that they made were donated to the Sint-Kamillus University Psychiatric Center in Bierbeek (Flanders) as a thank you for the hard work of the care personnel.
