Siemens to open e-government knowledge center

Siemens Business Services (SBS), the IT subsidiary of the Germany-based Siemens group, is to establish a knowledge center for e-government in Belgium. It will be the company’s fifth such center.

A spokesman for the company said the center would focus specifically on defense and the European Union. NATO’s headquarters are in Brussels, as is the European Commission. Scheduled to open on October 1, the center will employ some 60 specialist staff within a year.

The other four centers are in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Italy.
