Rensair (UK) sets up Europe-wide distribution in Flanders

Rensair – the UK business behind the air purifier of the same name, which reduces microorganisms to undetectable levels – has set up a distribution base at the Port of Antwerp, Flanders. From this strategic location, the firm’s air purification units will be delivered to customers across Europe. To ensure continent-wide distribution, Rensair is working with Antwerp-based logistics partner Eutraco. The first shipment of units was scheduled to arrive on 4 March 2021.

A warm welcome to Flanders

Rensair’s local referral partner in Flanders – Albert Pegg of EnerjetiXX – was key in introducing the founders of Rensair to the right people and companies at the Port of Antwerp and in Flanders as a whole. These close ties enabled an efficient entry for Rensair into Belgium’s northern region.

Adding to the warm and smooth welcome, government agency Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) also helped Rensair claim its spot in Flanders through the assistance and practical support of a hands-on team.

Unlocking continental Europe

Rensair’s motivation to cross the Channel is a story of international growth and continued ambition. “After our successful expansion in the UK and US in 2020, continental Europe is now our key focus in our mission to help create safe environments where people can work, study and provide medical services with hospital-grade purification,” says Christian Hendriksen, co-founder of Rensair.

Following Brexit, our new Antwerp base gives us a quick and reliable supply route to customers across Europe – and we’re very grateful for the assistance of Flanders Investment and Trade in helping us set up here so quickly.

“We are pleased to welcome Rensair to Flanders, and we wish them the best of luck,” comments Claire Tillekaerts, CEO of Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT).

Brexit has led many companies to consider their options in Europe, and Flanders has often been their preferred choice. We are confident that Rensair will reach its full potential in European expansion from their base at the Port of Antwerp. FIT will keep supporting Rensair through our network in the region and across the world.

From family invention to international success

Rensair’s air purification units are used by hospitals across Scandinavia and National Healthcare Service (NHS) trusts in the UK. Tested and verified by various independent labs, these portable solutions offer a simple and 99.97% effective way to eliminate all viruses and bacteria from the air – including the coronavirus family of pathogens.

Here’s how the Rensair system works:

  • A powerful fan pulls air into a HEPA 13 filter where bacteria and viruses are trapped and exposed to a strong UVC light.
  • Unlike in standard air filtration systems, the light destroys the DNA and RNA of all microorganisms, eliminating them and preventing further transmission.
  • Then, the system expels clean air in a full 360° distribution.

Rensair’s patented technology was developed in Denmark in 2002 by engineer Henrik Hendriksen, the father of Rensair co-founder Christian. What drove Henrik was a desire to improve on the available air filtration systems on the market to help his son cope with severe allergies. The system proved to be so effective that it quickly found its way into numerous hospitals and care homes. It has recently also been adopted by a number of NHS trusts to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.
