Punch takes over Acunia

Punch International, the Flanders-based international manufacturer and supplier for the consumer and professional electronics industries has taken over Acunia, the Leuven-based telematics specialist that ran into financial difficulties.

Acunia was a provider of cutting-edge software and hardware solutions for fleet management, B2B and commercial telematics. Founded in 1996 as SmartMove, the company's core technology is at the origin of open platform-based telematics services.

Established in 1982, Punch International employs 3,000 people worldwide and has 22 production facilities in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. The Acunia operation will be moved from its present Leuven facilities to the Punch International facility at Lier, Flanders.
