P.I. of Europe builds new plant

P.I. of Europe (PIE) has started work on a new production facility for multifunctional surface treatment of car air-conditioning at its Beringen site in Flanders. Scheduled for completion in May 2002, the project’s budget is in excess of 935,000 Euro.

P.I. of Europe, established at Beringen since 1989, is a 50-50 subsidiary of the Nihon Parkerizing Co., Ltd and Parker Industries (P.I.) Inc., two companies based in Tokyo, Japan. Parker Industries, Inc. is in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Parkerizing, whose main activity is the manufacturing and sale of rust preventive oils for CRS, coated steels and automobiles.

Parker Industries is now supplying its European customers from plants in the US and Japan. With the increasing numbers of air-conditioned cars in Europe, the market and demand for P.I.’s products is showing steady growth. Production in Beringen should match the needs of the customers and improve the speed of supply in Europe.
