Mundipharma’s offices will be located in buildings on the new Mechelen industrial estate alongside the E19 Brussels-Antwerp motorway. The 40 Belgian employees will mainly be engaged in sales and marketing activities. Mundipharma products should be appearing on the Belgian market by the middle of 2003.

Mundipharma is a worldwide market leader in the development and sale of pain-relief drugs for chronic conditions. This sector will remain one of the company’s main priorities, with the emphasis on further research into new pain-killers. Other areas of activity include neurology and cancer treatment.

Mundipharma is part of an association of pharmaceutical companies, owned by a group of private shareholders. The association already has outlets in most European countries. Mundipharma has an annual turnover of some 2.95 billion euro.
