Meet the nominees of Foreign Investment of the Year

Five multinationals are going for the gold at the Foreign Investment Trophy 2017. Their ambition? To win the grand title of Foreign Investment of the Year – highlighting their track record in Flanders and the importance of foreign investment. To kick off the competition, our nominees take the floor.

The winner will be announced during the Foreign Investment Trophy at the Ghelamco Arena in Ghent, on Tuesday February 21, 2017.

The stories behind the investments


Japanese air conditioning company Daikin is investing EUR 25.5 million in Flanders, and builds two state-of-the-art test rooms in Ostend.


French sporting goods chain Decathlon is investing EUR 7.11 million to expand its distribution facilities in Willebroek, Flanders.


With an investment of EUR 110 million, American flooring group Mohawk is modernizing the production site of its IVC subsidiary in Avelgem, Flanders.


To reinforce its market position, French pharma giant Sanofi is channeling EUR 300 million into its biotech production plant in Geel, Flanders.


American package delivery company UPS is funneling EUR 4 million into the construction of a new distribution center in Lummen, Flanders.
