For fifteen years, Dutch company Mendix has been making platforms for low-code programming. The underlying goal is simple: to give employees the necessary tools to build lightweight programs themselves, which helps them handle their daily responsibilities. Behind the scene, the IT department makes sure that privacy and security rules are in place, while assisting business personnel in building more complex apps. In a world where nearly everything can be done via mobile apps, low code is on the rise.

Low-code market leader Mendix expands in Flanders
To meet this demand, the company is looking to expand its existing team in Flanders. “This was the logical choice,” says Rob van Lubek, VP for EMEA at Mendix. “We find it important to speak the language of the country – not just verbally, but also in terms of culture and customs. Ultimately, the expansion lowers the threshold for working locally, both legally as in terms of investment. France and the Middle East are on the radar as well."
To make sure communication with partners and users runs as smoothly as possible, the company is strongly committed to its local teams. “Working with a local team makes it easier to maintain relationships and to discuss current affairs," explains van Lubek. “We will be able to respond more easily to increasing demand. In turn, customers also like to do business with people who are nearby.”
