LCL opens second data center

LCL, a Belgian co-location company, has opened a second data center for its customers in Antwerp after reaching an agreement with C&W, which is ceasing its housing and colocation activities, the company has announced.

The center covers 477 square meters and will make LCL the largest, independent co-location supplier in Belgium and the only independent supplier running two centers. It can be used as either a "hot" or a "cold" site.

Together with its other center at Diegem, Flanders, LCL is able to provide services for Internet Service Providers, web-housing firms, Managed Services Providers and telecommunications companies. Since the start of its data centrer activities, LCL has built up more than 25 telecom and ISP customers, with this number expected to increase to 40 by the end of the year.
