According to Tobias Jerschke, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel BeLux, the expansion was necessary. “This is because demand from pharmaceutical companies continues to increase,” he explains. “By aligning our distribution network to meet these expectations, we ensure that hospitals, pharmacies, doctors and patients are supplied on time.”
The hub will also be one of the largest in the Kuehne + Nagel pharmaceutical network. “Our site in Geel, Flanders, is located at the heart of one of Europe's strongest pharmaceutical clusters,” said Jerschke. The multimodal site is close to rail, water and road connections and includes two temperature-controlled rooms for the sensitive storage of medicines.
