JLG opens assembly plant in Maasmechelen

The American stock-noted group JLG Industries has opened its first Belgian factory on the Oude Bunders industrial estate in Maasmechelen. The new factory is also JLG’s first assembly plant in Europe.

Maasmechelen will concentrate on the manufacture of mobile telescopic work platforms, jack-knife lifts and loading lifts, all fields in which JLG is world leader. The Americans plan to invest 5 million euros in the leasing of the ground and the construction and equipping of their new premises.

The project will provide work for 64 staff.
