Ineos and Essent to build power plant

Ineos, the chemical company, and Essent, a Dutch energy firm, have agreed to construct a total energy plant on Ineos’s site at Antwerp, according to on-line news sources.

The planned power station will have an electric power production capacity of 135 megawatts. The major part of this will be sold onto the Belgian energy market, while Ineos will take the total amount of steam produced.

The 100 million euro plant will be built by Siemens and is scheduled to come on line by the end of next year.
