Hill’s opens distribution center in Meer

Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc., the US-based maker of pet foods and special nutritional items for pets, is opening a European distribution center at Meer in Flanders, close to the Dutch border.

The center initially covers some 254,000 square feet (23,600 square meters) with attached office facilities.

Hill’s, now part of the Colgate-Palmolive group, first started supplying pet nutritional foods in 1948 following work by the veterinarian Mark L. Morris, who believed that certain diseases in pets could be managed through carefully formulated nutrition.
