It’s not by chance that Heyaru decided to expand its business in Lommel, being close to both the Port of Antwerp and Diepenbeek, where Hasselt University is currently exploring the use of synthetic diamonds in technological applications. In addition, Lommel will soon host a large solar energy park that will provide the large amount of electricity needed to process diamonds.
In the first phase, the company will focus on the production of diamonds for jewelry-making, thus becoming a new supplier of the renowned Antwerp diamond district. Over time, Heyaru’s services will extend to technological applications, such as quantum computers with diamond-integrated optomechanical circuits, which today constitute a research project in its early and experimental stages.
