Switching mother companies

At the end of 2014, technology company Barco from Kortrijk sold its aviation activities to Esterline. The American aviation supplier paid EUR 150 million for the display factory, which is still located next to Barco's head office in Kortrijk, Flanders. With the takeover, the display factory will become part of TransDigm.

A significant asset

The factory in Kortrijk, Flanders employs 400 people and was the headquarters of Esterline’s Advanced Displays business. Each year, the branch builds thousands of displays for aircraft cockpits, flight simulators and air traffic controllers such as Belgocontrol. With an annual turnover of EUR 106 million, the Kortrijk factory is a significant business contributor for its parent company.
