Corda INCubator off to a flying start
The main purpose of the Corda INCubator is to offer young (mainly ICT) companies the opportunity to develop in optimal conditions. On the one hand, the site is a lab where new ideas and technologies can be developed. On the other hand, it also offers start-ups cheap housing in a comprehensive eco-system with supporting services. A formula that is now catching on, since around 55% of the available seats were taken already at the official inauguration.
Just like similar projects BioVille, IncubaThor, C-Mine and GreenVille, the Corda Incubator provides both infrastructure and venture capital. Investment company LRM – which holds a share of 60% in the incubator – is offering early seed financing (between EUR 50,000 and 100,000) as well.
“The Corda INCubator differentiates itself by offering support across the entire entrepreneurial life cycle, from pre-start over start-up phase to the first few years of doing business,” says Stijn Bijnens, CEO of LRM. This trajectory is mirrored in three zones. In each of these zones, an organization assumes the role of key partner: Startit@kbc, iMinds and PXL-UHasselt StudentStartUP.
