Chinese incubator to join Corda Campus (Flanders)

In the future, the provinces of Limburg in Flanders and Guangdong in China will work together closely on an economic, cultural and educational level. On the Corda Campus in Hasselt, an incubator will be installed to accommodate Chinese companies.

Guangdong—which has no fewer than 80 million inhabitants—itself took the initiative for the rapprochement. Just like Limburg, the province is in full economic transition, focusing on the knowledge economy and quality products. If all goes well, His Majesty King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will be signing the protocol of the agreement during their state visit to China in June.

“By installing a Chinese incubator on the Corda Campus, we aim to establish a Chinese community in Limburg,” says Rudi Weekers, Director at Locate in Limburg. “More and more, the Chinese economy wants to position itself as a quality label. Technology plays a key role in this.”
