BT chooses Brussels for international HQ

British Telecom is to base its worldwide headquarters for international business in Diegem near Brussels, the company has announced.

BT’s current European HQ is in Diegem, where some 340 staff are currently employed. An additional 150 personnel will join them as Brussels becomes the center of the group’s international activities.

François Barrault, president of BT International, cited the availability of high-level staff for the choice of Diegem, adding that the quality of life, geographical location, communications infrastructure and international environment in the region had also played a role in the decision.
