Belgium sixth in human development index

Belgium has been ranked sixth in the world in the United Nations Development Programme’s 15th “Human Development Report”, an annual index of human development, newspapers report.


The index includes criteria such as education, health and standard of living. This year’s report shows an average life expectancy in Belgium of 78.7 years and a rise in GNP (Gross National Product) per person from $25,520 to $27,570.
