Automotive organizations launch website

The Belgian industry organizations Agoria and Febiac have launched a new website to raise the profile of the automotive industry at home and abroad, and to create a reference point for companies, a combined media statement says.

Some 200 of the companies involved in the sector, which is mostly concentrated in Flanders, have already registered on the site – www.aiib.be – which is part-sponsored by the FFIO.

A survey of the companies already registered showed that 45% had expansion plans for the coming five years, 10% were completely independent of the four major car assemblers in the country, 47% exported more than 75% of their production, and for almost 60% of the companies the automotive sector made up more than 75% of turnover.
