Akzo Nobel moves on coatings

The Dutch chemicals company Akzo Nobel has signed an agreement with the Belgian firm Techni-Coat International (TCI) to take over its special plastic coatings business.

The company produces coatings for consumer electronics, cosmetics packaging and sport and leisure products. TCI had a turnover last year of some 10 million euro. All 22 of its employees will be taken on by Akzo Nobel.

The  move is a strategic one for Akzo Nobel, which is looking for strategic growth of its own specialty plastics business.
