Acunia launches new-generation ‘CarCube’

Acunia, the Flanders-based telematics development company, has launched the next generation of its CarCube onboard computer.

Running Linux, WinCE for Automotive and QNX, the CarCube is described as a high-performing, low-power embedded system well suited for demanding fleet applications.

In its manufactured version, the device offers flexibility to customers, allowing choice of software applications and hardware peripherals. Third parties are able to develop applications in Java, .NET or native code to obtain an optimal solution and integration with existing and new IT infrastructure and operational processes.

Founded in 1996 as SmartMove, Acunia's core business is at the heart of the fast-growing telematics industry, which combines telecommunication and information technology for use on mobile and fixed devices.
