Flanders Make works closely with Sirris – the collective center of the Belgian technological industry – as well as with Flanders' five universities. Through such cross-domain collaboration, the research center intends to transform and anchor the manufacturing industry in Flanders.
Focusing on production technology and smart assembly expertise, Flanders Make was launched in 2014 to support companies in various industries by conducting research into product and production technology and processes.
- Power electronics and energy storage
- Mechatronics and design methods
- Manufacturing processes
- Human-centered systems engineering
Flanders Make already has two test centers, one in Leuven and one in Lommel. In 2018, it will open a third facility in West Flanders, focusing on mechatronics and machinery.
Flanders Make’s mission is to strengthen the international competitiveness of the manufacturing industry of Flanders in the long term through industry-driven, pre-competitive research in the fields of mechatronics, product development methods and advanced production technologies.
