Mr. Bart De Wever, the mayor of the city of Antwerp and Mr. Aleksander Beglov, the governor of St. Petersburg, signed a memorandum of understanding. The sister cities plan to boost cooperation in different industries including the port industry and the fashion industry.  

Besides, it was an unique chance to visit the official hand-over of a carillon bell destined for the mobile carillon of St. Petersburg. The bell is a gift from the city of Antwerp and marks the 60th anniversary of partnership relations between the city of Antwerp and St. Petersburg. The inscription reads: 'van Antwerpen voor Sint-Petersburg'. The carillon is located in the heart of the city, in the tower of the Peter and Paul Cathedral, where its bells sound every day. 

The agenda of the mayor also included a piano concert that was given on Sunday 9th of February 2020. The concert was played by the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra at the D.D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia. It was Rachmaninov's Piano Concert No. 3 played by Lukas Vondráček and conducted by Elim Chan. The concert was magnificent and had a huge succes!
