The New Central Port in Gdansk

The concept of the new Central Port in Gdansk was presented in May 2019 at the North Port Authority premises in Gdansk. It is estimated that the whole investment will cost ca. 12 billion PPLN (ca. 3 billion EUR) and first terminals should be ready in 2029. The new port will cover the sea area of 1400 hectars and 410 hectars of land.

The plans cover the construction of 9 terminals (including 2 container terminals and offshore terminal, LNG terminal and dockyard and passenger ship terminal), 4 turntable conveyors and 3 fairways. The investment will also include the construction of 19 km waterfronts and 8.5 km of breakwaters.

According to the Ministry of Sea and Inland Maritime, Mr. Marek Gróbarczyk, reloads in Polish ports will double in few coming years. The investment will be supported with the state money.

The concept was created by the consortium Projmors Biuro Budownictwa Morskiego (http://www.projmors.pl/) and Mosty Gdansk (http://mostygdansk.pl/).

The first construction works will be preceded by the archeology inspection, environmental studies and preparation of the detailed landscape concept. Simultaneously, the Port Authorities will make efforts to gain new customers.
