The National Railway Carrier CFR announced its strategy for development of the railway infrastructure 2018-2022. The costs of implementing the strategy are estimated at EUR 12,18 billion and they are divided into several parts: e.g. the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Rhine-Danube corridor, the rehabilitation and modernization of the East / Med corridor infrastructure, the renewal of the railway infrastructure and various maintenance and repairs.
Some of the measures constitute investment projects eligible for funding from European non-reimbursable funds.
