An airport of the future will be built through an integrated concept that, if necessary, can be easily extended and, for the first time for Romania, the airport will have a virtual control tower.

Brasov–Ghimbav airport development project is located in  Brasov County close to the new A3 motorway. The airport will serve the city of Brasov and is designed to handle medium-sized aircraft with an annual capacity of one million passengers.

May-2019, Brasov County Council selected a local company for construction of a new 11.780 sqm passenger terminal at Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport.

According to the plans, the airport from Brasov will be ready in 2020.
