Cluj-Napoca (Roemenië) wordt als eerste Oost-Europese stad voorgedragen voor de titel 'European Capital of Innovation 2020'

Cluj-Napoca, the first East European city, shortlisted for European Capital for Innovation title 2020. This city is amongst the finalist cities in the competition for the title 'European Capital of Innovation 2020' along with eleven other cities from Europe.

Funded by the EU's research and innovation program Horizon 2020, the competition recognizes the European cities that develop innovation ecosystems to address public challenges and improve citizens' lives.

Cluj-Napoca, located in Transylvania, Romania is one of the most important innovation hubs of the country.

The Comission will announce the winner and the runners-up of the European Capital of Innovation 2020 contest at the European Research and Innovation Days, 22-24 September 2020.
