24 miljard euro voor groene projecten in Roemenië

The Minister of Environment, Water and Forests announces that 24 billion euro, out of the total of almost 80 billion euro obtained by Romania from European Funds during the European Council negociations, will be spent on green projects. Priority for the coming months is to focus on environmental projects, so that Romania benefits from as much money as possible it has at its disposal. In the first stage the emphasis will fall on the approximate 10 billion euro from the European Union's Economic Recovery Plan.

According to the objectives of the European Green Deal, Romania will have to spend the allocated amount of 24 billion euro on green targets, to create a succesful economy, with low carbon emissions. The Minister states that they have a coordination structure almost completed, which will help Romania benefit from the available funds (European Green Deal and Next Generation EU). This coordination structure will ensure cooperation and coordination between institutions, environmental organisations, business environment and other entities as the common goal is "to build a strong economy, to help industries to produce more with low energy consumption, to make the building sector more energy efficient, to protect species, forest and invest in healthy air in large urban agglomerations", adds the minister.
