New agency to meet business demands in a competitive global economy

Export Vlaanderen, the foreign trade division of the Flanders Government, and the Flanders Foreign Investment Office, the direct investment department, have been brought together as a new agency, Flanders Investment and Trade.

The creation of Flanders Investment & Trade on July 1, 2005, is in response to the increasing complexity of international business and the fact that many more Flemish companies working beyond the borders of Flanders, as well as foreign companies setting up or expanding operations within the region, require services that are tailored to individual situations.

Flanders Investment & Trade brings together the knowledge bases and expertise of both previous agencies to provide the types of services that businesses need in what is an increasingly competitive and global economy.

A new logo and new look has been designed for Flanders Investment & Trade. A portal website leading in to the websites of both the export arm and the foreign direct investment arm can be found at: www.flandersinvestmentandtrade.com

E-mail addresses now operate with the destination suffix of @fitagency.be although previous addresses will continue to operate for some time to come. All other contact details, including telephone and fax numbers and the postal and previous website addresses, remain unchanged.
